The number of cases of Legionnaires’ disease in Québec City reached a total of 151 cases with 9 deaths as of August 30, 2012.

The Quebec government ordered a public inquiry into the outbreak of legionnaires’ disease.

The deadly bacteria grow in the stagnant water of cooling systems and spread in little droplets through air conditioning.
