Are you interested in improving mental health and wellness in your community? Do you want to learn more about available programs and how you can make an impact from a mental health expert? Then this event is for you!
The S.E.E.D.S. Benefit is an annual event that aims to bring members of the community together in order to promote the development of healthy, inclusive communities in Toronto. Each year, our Benefit celebrates the organization’s achievements, brings awareness to the Toronto communities that have been impacted and, showcases community improvement initiatives designed by youth and inspired by science education and social innovation.
This year’s benefit is focused on the science of mental health. We will be taking a community-level approach, discussing current resources and methods for maintaining your mental health. This event brings together members of the community at different stages of their education/careers, from inspired university students, to public health professionals.
We are excited to have two speakers at our event:
Maria Mihailoska, MA who is an Inidivudals, Couples & Family therapist, and is part of the ‘Psychotherapy in the City’ team which helps clients better understand themselves, find inner peace, confidence and strength. Maria has a Masters Degree in Counseling and Spirituality specializing in couple and family psychotherapy and an Honors Bachelor Degree in Psychology. Maria strongly believes that her clients hold the key to their happiness.
Anita Dubey, MSc who is the Manager of Research Dissemination & Outreach at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Her career has focused on translating health research for both the public and professionals, including policy-makers and clinicians.
We are also pleased to announce that spoken word artist Ayla Lefkowitz, and a cappella choir Onoscatopoeia will be performing at our event!
We are thankful to the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) for generously donating the space to host our event. This generosity allows us to provide an opportunity for members of the community to engage with each other, and foster discussions around health innovation in Toronto.
Tickets are $15, which includes food, a drink ticket and a raffle ticket!
