Please join us for faculty development and discussion hosted by: Waakebiness-Bryce Institute for Indigenous Health
Angela Mashford-Pringle, Associate Director at Waakebiness-Bryce Institute for Indigenous Health (WBIIH), will provide a ‘tour’ of Indigenous health in Canada that clarifies terminology, briefly examines the socio-political issues that still govern Indigenous health, and how the social determinants of health affect all Indigenous people regardless of where they reside. After reviewing some of the current health statistics for Indigenous people in Canada, Angela will review potential resources for curriculum through electronic links to resources for cultural safety training, Indigenous journals and those available at the University of Toronto.
This will be followed by a Q & A session.
We look forward to seeing you there. Light refreshments will be served.
