Abstract: Roger will introduce the topic “Comparative Ethics and the Importance of Context” by discussing debates within the United Church over same sex marriage and the use of military force to protect victims of aggression. Roger and Christopher will then lead a conversation about the importance of context for dealing with shifts in emphasis in bioethics from clinical practice to community care, continuing care, palliative care and assisted dying.
