Health Sciences Building, 155 College St, 7th floor
  • November 13, 2018 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm

All Public Health alumni are invited to attend the PHAA Annual General Meeting to hear updates from the PHAA and vote on the incoming slate and congratulate this year’s CP Shah Award recipient Dr. Penny Sutcliffe.

She will be presenting her talk “Let’s start a conversation about health and not talk about health care at all”.

For more than two decades, Dr. Sutcliffe has played a small part in advancing social justice through public health practice. The Ontario public health system’s voice and role in improving health equity are now legitimized and normalized. Local public health professionals are now expected to address equity considerations in all that they do but it hasn’t always been this way. She will share how her career journey has intersected with this important (r)evolution and her thoughts on the need for sustained vigilance.

  • 5:30 p.m. Networking & refreshments
  • 6:00 p.m. PHAA Board updates
  • 6:30 p.m. Presentation by Dr. Penny Sutcliffe

This evening event will also be an opportunity to connect with DLSPH alumni and learn about the exciting initiatives and events that the PHAA Board leads throughout the year.
