This symposium kicks off the final of a three-part* series of CIHR-funded collaborative interdisciplinary workshops entitled “Collaboration on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Public’s Health.”

The November 14 symposium at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health will specifically explore the role of AI methods, including machine learning (ML), in the context of population risk prediction and decision-making related to chronic disease.


  • Bring together international experts in population risk prediction and AI methods to discuss methodological issues and applications;
  • Inform the debate on the implications of AI for predictive analytics in population health related to chronic diseases;
  • Identify the core elements of a population/public health AI training program to build capacity in Canada.
