Course Description

This is a second level course in epidemiology and focuses on analytic epidemiology and the use of quantitative research methods to answer a range of questions.  The course focuses on quantitative research designs, sources of bias and error in research and ways to design and carry out all aspects of research to minimize biased study results and interpretation.

General Requirements

This is a core required course for the MPH Epidemiology field. Introductory courses in epidemiologic research, surveillance and demography and biostatistics are expected (Intro to Epidemiology and Population perspectives). Students will be taking more advanced courses in biostatistics and public health surveillance in parallel.
