DLSPH Biostatistics Research Day

May 6/2013

The annual Biostatistics Research Day will be held on Tuesday, May 21st, in HSB 610 (the auditorium on the 6th floor). This year, the event will again have a one-day workshop and poster presentations.    The topic of the workshop is data mining, and the speaker is Dr. Dick De Veaux. For more information, please visit the event website at http://wlou.biostatistics.utoronto.ca/SORA-BN-TABA/WBRD/2013/Default.htm

This event is a joint effort with SORA (The Southern Ontario Regional Association of the Statistical Society of Canada & The Southern Ontario Chapter of the American Statistical Association), BN (The Buffalo-Niagara Chapter of the American Statistical Association), and  TABA (The Applied Biostatistics Association). It aims to connect statisticians from across Southern Ontario and the Buffalo-Niagara region.

All interested participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for the poster presentation session, and all students and postdocs are eligible for the poster presentation awards.  This year the inaugural "Paul Corey Award", an award established in recognition of Prof. Corey's generous donations to the Biostatistics program, will be given to three winners, who will receive certificates and prizes ($).
