June 23, 12 p.m. ET Virtual webinar: Mitacs funding for DLSPH practicum and Internships

Dalla Lana School of Public Health PHS and IHPME graduate students are invited to learn more about the Mitacs Business Strategy Internship program and how it can be leveraged to fund a future 4 month practicum or 4 – 12 month internship for non academic credits. The session will cover funding eligibility, timelines, the application process, and examples of past and current Mitacs-supported projects. The session will be recorded, and the slides and recording will be shared with everyone after the session.

Eligibility for Mitacs Business Strategy Internship program

Mitacs funded projects require three parties:
1. An eligible partner organization (preceptor) one of
• A registered Canadianfor-profit organization
• A registered Canadian not-for-profit organization (NFP)
• A Canadian municipality
• A Canadian hospital

2. An intern (student)
3. An academic supervisor (professor)

For each four-month practicum period, there are two options for funding:
• $10,000 ($5,000+tax from the partner organization [preceptor], $5,000 from Mitacs)
• $15,000 ($7,500*+tax from the partner organization [preceptor], $7,500 from Mitacs)
A partner organization may choose to contribute more than $7,500, but Mitacs will contribute a maximum of $7,500 per 4-month period per student
