Presented by the 2S/LGBTQ+ Health Hub …

The 2S/LGBTQ+ Health Hub lecture series presents: Walking Between Two Worlds As a Two-Spirit Indigiqueer in Youth Leadership & Academia with Mallory Solomon (Lakehead University).

This presentation will discuss the life’s journey of a Two-Spirit Anishininew (Oji-Cree) advocate and graduate student who was raised in Constance Lake First Nation, ON. Mallory Solomon (They/Them) uses storytelling and humour to raise awareness about their achievements and challenges in the academic community and First Nation leadership spaces.

After the presentation there will be time for Q&A. The topics that will be covered throughout the session will be storytelling, healing, intersectionality, reclamation, colonialism, perseverance, barriers, resilience, community support, Two-Spirit, and Indigenous identity. The overall theme of the presentation is to inspire other young Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ leaders and students to be resilient and to become their own advocates in colonial spaces and to access community resources.

The 2S/LGBTQ+ Health Hub is a CIHR funded health research training platform.
