CHL5706H Position Description
OBJECTIVES: The main objectives of this interdisciplinary course are to expose course participants to issues in women’s health and in particular identify areas for practical interventions relevant to women’s health amid conflict and crisis. You will be exposed to a variety of scholars and researchers in the field who have worked in countries in conflict and learn and participate in discussions on – ethical, legal, political, social, cultural, and health system frameworks in an effort to understand and take action on the issues identified. In addition, this course explores new insights into leadership based on breakthrough discoveries about leadership laws and case studies of innovative programs and what students can practically do to make an impact on women and women’s health and translate those learnings to other global health challenges facing our world today.

Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of health promotion: practice, history, key concepts, behaviour-oriented theories, and strategies. Particularly issues in women’s health and areas for practical interventions relevant to women’s health amid conflict and crisis, and knowledge of ethical frameworks.
Duties:
• Marking Journal Papers submitted by students (3 in total for the semester) Journal papers are between 700 – 1000 words.
• Marking one project proposal (700 – 1000 words) and one final paper (3000 – 4000 words) Submissions in groups are encouraged but not guaranteed.
• Meeting with students to provide feedback for each of their submissions (5 meetings per student/group a semester).
• Time will need to be offered for preparing notes for meetings with the students.
Relevant Criterion:
The need to acquire experience is the more relevant criterion than previous experience in respect of this posted position.
