Dineli Fernando

Class of 2027

Dineli Fernando (she/her) is a second-year master of public health student at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Prior to graduate studies, she completed undergraduate degrees in cell biology and sociology at the University of Alberta. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Dineli has engaged in basic science and clinical research on Type 2 diabetes and obesity, as well as knowledge translation work, and has published several peer-reviewed articles. The daughter of Sri Lankan immigrants, Dineli hopes to use her interdisciplinary education to inform effective community-based interventions and health policy reforms that improve access to equitable primary health care for marginalized groups.
