Georges Ki-Zerbo

Georges Ki-Zerbo is the former head of the World Health Organization missions to Iraq, former director of the World Health Organization Office to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. He also headed WHO’s missions to Guinea, Chad and Equatorial Guinea and served as its co-ordinator for Central Africa and leader of the communicable diseases area of work. He acted with appreciation as United Nations resident co-ordinator in Guinea from 2018 to 2020. He is an emeritus lecturer in infectious disease at the University of Ouagadougou School of Medicine in Burkina Faso. Georges received his medical training at the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal and his master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan as a Hubert Humphrey Fulbright Fellow. He was distinguished as commander in the National Order of Merit in Guinea for his outstanding service.
