Khadija Farooq
Class of 2027
Driven by curiosity about people and the worlds they inhabit, Khadija Farooq has spent the past several years working across health care, grassroots organizing, community advocacy and social justice. She founded Youth of East York, an award-winning grassroots group, has worked with Islamic Relief chapters across Canada and serves on the board of Willow Arts Community, which creates safe spaces for creative exploration for people living with mental illness and substance use challenges in Niagara. She holds a bachelor of health sciences degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont., and is completing a master’s degree in social justice and equity studies at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont., where her thesis explores student activism and anti-Palestinian racism on university campuses.
