Sarah Khazem

Sarah Khazem is a Syrian journalist reporting from Syria. Over the past five years, she has worked across Syria and Lebanon, covering migration, gender, human rights, mental health, environmental issues and press freedom. Her reporting has appeared in Daraj, Khateera, Awan Media and Sot Sori. She is especially interested in what political headlines leave out: how upheaval enters people’s homes, changes women’s lives, reshapes minority communities and determines who can return, speak or belong. Drawing on years of work with refugee and displaced women, Sarah approaches sensitive stories with rigour, context and close attention to dignity.
