Course Description

This course introduces students to Indigenous people’s health issues through an examination of the socio-political history of Canada. This course will provide an overview of First Nations, Métis and Inuit health issues by focusing the history of Indigenous people in Canada.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, students will have acquired a broad, critical understanding of the major issues and challenges confronting Indigenous people in Canada today in terms of their health status, health determinants, and health care.
