University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics Seminar Series 2019-20

Bob Parke, Consulting Ethicist, University Health Network

In this seminar I want to address the gift which is advance care planning (ACP). I also want to add that engagement in healthcare planning and policy development from macro to micro level includes people who represent the broadest level of backgrounds including social, economic and racial backgrounds, as well as abilities. Through being inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds we can optimize the chances of hearing the less powerful voices who need to be heard and creating an equitable environment for the provision of care. Through an equitable approach to ACP it is my hope that we can take it from a privileged act to an inclusive act of optimal care.

These seminars are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome either in person or via webcast.
