Rosalind (Roz) Abdool is a practicing clinical ethicist, working at Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga. Roz formerly provided consultation services with the Centre for Clinical Ethics at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare in Windsor, ON. She is currently a Board Member for the Canadian Bioethics Society, acting as the Membership Coordinator. Roz completed her doctorate work at the University of Waterloo in Philosophy, specializing in both ethics and bioethics. She further completed the Centre for Clinical Ethics’ Fellowship Program in Clinical and Organizational Ethics in partnership with the University of Toronto’s Joint Centre for Bioethics at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, St. Michael’s Hospital and Providence Health Care in Toronto. Rosalind has presented internationally at the International Academy of Law and Mental Health Congress and at the World Congress for Psychiatric Nurses. She has presented nationally at the Canadian Bioethics Society Annual Conference, in addition to lecturing locally at the University of Toronto and the University of Windsor. She has also published in Nursing Ethics. Her areas of expertise include ethics in complex continuing care, rehabilitation and palliative care, as well as in applying theoretical concepts to tangible dilemmas. Her research interests include health equity and challenges of social justice in our evolving healthcare system.
