DLSPH is hosting special events in the afternoon before the convocation ceremony to celebrate this important milestone with you. Please find details about our doctoral Hooding Ceremony and our all-graduand Convocation Reception below.

DLSPH Doctoral Hooding Ceremony – 2025 Spring Convocation Day

When: Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Where: Rotman’s Desautels Hall, 105 St George St, Toronto, ON M5S 3E6

The DLSPH Doctoral Hooding Ceremony is a special event to honour our doctoral graduands and their supervisors. During the ceremony the supervisor places the doctoral hood over the head of the graduand, signifying their success in completing their program. The DLSPH Doctoral Hooding Ceremony is not intended to replace the official University of Toronto Convocation Ceremony.

Hooding Ceremony Schedule

  • 1:00 p.m. – Doors open, check-in begins, and guests mingle.
  • 1:30 p.m. – Attendees rise if able, cue professional music.
  • 1:40 p.m. – Remarks begin.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Ceremony ends.

DLSPH Convocation Reception – 2025 Spring Convocation Day

When: Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Where: Rotman’s Desautels Hall, 105 St George St, Toronto, ON M5S 3E6

  • 3:00 p.m. – Doors open, check-in begins, food is served.
  • 3:30 p.m. – Remarks begin
  • 3:45 p.m. – Reception continues
  • 4:30 p.m. – Reception ends

Doctoral Regalia Pick-up 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Mcleod Auditorium, Room 4386, Medical Sciences Building, 1 King’s College Circle. Doctoral graduands participating in the Hooding Ceremony should pick up their regalia in the morning between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Doctoral Hooding Ceremony  1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Rotman’s Desautels Hall, 105 St George St, Toronto, ON M5S 3E6

This event welcomes IHPME and PHS doctoral graduands and their supervisors for an intimate ceremony to honour their accomplishment.

Proof of registration required for admittance.
Convocation Reception – All DLSPH Graduands 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Rotman’s Desautels Hall, 105 St George St, Toronto, ON M5S 3E6

This event welcomes all DLSPH spring 2025 graduands. Light refreshments will be provided.

Master’s Graduands Regalia Pick-up No later than 90 minutes prior to the start of the Convocation Ceremony. Mcleod Auditorium, Room 4386, Medical Sciences Building, 1 King’s College Circle. Upon picking up your regalia, please proceed directly to the Marshalling Rooms where you will be assembled for the ceremony.
