1) Dr. Tatyana Mollayeva – “Sex and gender in traumatic brain injury: Equity in outcomes”

Tatyana Mollayeva, PhD, MD is an Affiliate Scientist at the KITE Research Institute University Health Network and an Assistant Professor (Status) in the Department of Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health of the University of Toronto. She is currently an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health with the Global Brain Health Institute, Institute of Neuroscience, Dublin.
Dr. Mollayeva received her Medical Degree in Preventive Medicine from Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, followed by a specialization in Epidemiology at the Turkmen State Medical University. In 2015 she obtained PhD at the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto. Her PhD and post-doctoral research programs on topics of sleep, traumatic brain injury, and dementia were funded by the Banting and Best Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the National Institutes of Health, and the Alzheimer’s Association among others. Dr. Mollayeva’s contributions have been recognized by the 2015 Deborah L. Wilkerson Early Career Award from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, 2017 Elio Lugaresi Award for Education from the World Sleep Congress, and 2019 Robert D. Voogt North American Brain Injury Society Founders Award.
Dr. Mollayeva is highly dedicated to disseminating knowledge and mentoring trainees across a broad range of professional and research-based programs.

2) Dr. Andrew Paterson – “Shining light on diabetes: skin fluorescence, complications and genetics”

Andrew is a senior scientist in the Program in Genetics and Genome Biology at the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute and Professor in the Divisions of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at DLSPH. He works on the genetics of diabetes complications as well as a number of most rare human diseases. He will talk about epidemiology and genetic analysis of non-invasive measures of skin advanced glycation endproducts.
