The education of children, youth and other learners has been interrupted as governments and their public health officials sought to contain the pandemic. According to UNESCO, school closures impacted over 60% of the student population. While remote learning strategies were put in place to mitigate the impacts, not all communities benefited equally. As economies around the globe start to re-open, questions are being raised about the safety of students and their teachers.
