The annual META:PHI conference is a great opportunity for anyone interested in issues related to substance use – novice or expert – to engage with others in the field. Our lineup features speakers from diverse disciplines and backgrounds presenting on a wide variety of topics, including the impact of COVID on people with opioid use disorder, strategies for working with families, alcohol withdrawal management, novel substances, decriminalization, and grief and loss.

Keynote speaker Carol Hopkins, O.C., MSW, LL.D (hons), Chief Executive Officer, Thunderbird Partnership Foundation, will present on the relationship between unresolved endemic and intergenerational trauma and problematic substance use experienced by First Nations in Canada and the protective impact of connection to culture and meaningful relationships.
