During the month of November, the University of Toronto Libraries (UTL) will host a weekly series of virtual panel discussions to showcase diverse perspectives on the principles and practice of Open Science, representing voices from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds, disciplines, and affiliations.
The structure of the panel series will be guided by the 5 principles of open scholarship as outlined in the Roadmap for Open Science, published by the Government of Canada in February 2020.

Target Audience: Open to all University of Toronto faculty, students and staff from all disciplines across the tri-campus.

The scientific community is integral to Open Science and needs to be representative and meaningfully engaged at every stage of the process, including the design, implementation, and evaluation of its effectiveness and impact. This session will explore the inclusion of all voices in Open Science and introduce the series.

Moderator: Leslie Weir, Librarian and Archivist of Canada

Speakers:
• Cassidy Sugimoto, Professor, and Tom and Marie Patton School Chair, School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology
• Leslie Chan, Associate Professor, Dept. of Global Development Studies, Director, Knowledge Equity Lab, University of Toronto Scarborough
• Tony Ross-Hellauer, Leader, Open and Reproducible Research Group at Graz University of Technology
