Although Indigenous people experience disparities in health and mental wellness, there is limited capacity to clinically support, and conduct research/evaluation in partnership with communities in a manner that is culturally- and contextually-appropriate. Identifying overarching needs also requires recognition of the unique histories and contexts that influence health needs. This presentation will discuss a program of community-based research that respects culture-based knowledge and community priorities but utilizes the best of Indigenous and psychological-scientific methods when engaging in research and clinical care with Indigenous people.
