The Secondary Impacts of COVID-19 Workstream has worked to keep Island Health employees informed of the many societal impacts of the pandemic, and to assist public health in planning an equitable response and recovery. Please join us for this panel discussion highlighting some of the key learnings of secondary impacts of the pandemic, and how they have been felt locally and at a national level, and what could be done to mitigate the effects of the pandemic in the immediate and a long-term future.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Define and identify the many secondary impacts of COVID-19;
2. Focus on social isolation and loneliness as one of the secondary impacts of the pandemic;
3. Focus on social prescribing as an evidence-based intervention to improve health outcomes and well-being: lessons learned from a social prescribing pilot in Ontario;
4. Reflect on the health system’s role in mitigating secondary impacts of COVID-19
