COVID-19: Where Will the Virus go Next?

Since the onset of the global pandemic, the world has been thrown into uncertainty. Two years later, there is still so much we don’t understand about the virus and how this pandemic will progress.

Join Professor Andrew Read as he summarizes what we know so far about SARS-CoV-2. In this Martin Lecture, Read will discuss the challenges of predicting how the virus will evolve and explain how our attempts to control and contain its spread might change its evolutionary path.

Professor Andrew Read is a renowned expert in pathogen adaptation, the evolution of virulence and vaccine escape. He is a professor of biotechnology at the Eberly College of Science at Pennsylvania State University, where he is an Evan Pugh University Professor of Biology and Entomology and director of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences.

The Martin Lecture is hosted by the Faculty of Arts & Science. This event is free and open to the public.
