Dr. Sáenz is a paediatrician, MSc PHDC (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, MSc MCH, ICH, University College London, UK) and works with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) – Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section since 2007 as an expert on drug dependence treatment, and global project coordinator. Her work aims to enhance the institutional knowledge and understanding of the Governments, civil society, and UN agencies of evidence-based drug treatment, and at developing national, governmental, and inter-governmental policies on this issue. She has also been involved in the development of key technical tools publications produced by UNODC.
