Research Interests
My academic contribution has been focused on disease control and primary care in four areas: 1) digital health; 2) primary care capacity; 3) antimicrobial resistance (AMR); 4) health policy and economics evaluation. My research program has been strongly linked to creative professional activities to integrate implementation science and artificial intelligence to change clinical practices and health policies in China. Through my research, I have established close partnerships with health authorities, leading hospitals and academics in China. Evidence from my research has been used to inform national policies in China reimbursement drug list, control of antimicrobial resistance in primary care and COVID-19 among students. I have received roughly ¥825,000 externally funded peer-reviewed grants as PI and published 59 high-impact papers in NPJ primary care, Journal of Medical Internet Research, BMC Bioinformatics, Journal of global health, Antimicrobial Resistance & Infection Control.
I have proven records of impacts in teaching, capacity building and leadership. I designed and direct two courses in School of Medicine and Health Management (1 compulsory undergraduate and 1 elective postgraduate) and won first-class prize in faculty teaching competition in Huazhong University of Science Technology (HUST). I have supervised 14 postgraduate students (PhD and MSc). In School of Medicine and Health Management, HUST, I am Deputy Director of Department of Health Policy and Management (with 27 faculty). Globally, I have been an honorary lecturer of United Nations Institute for Training and Research (No. L2021-003). In China, I provide consultancy to National Healthcare Security Administration and National Medical Insurance Negotiations. I’m also the Deputy Secretary-General of Maternal and Child Public Health Committee, Chinese Medical Association.
