Course Description

This is a second level course in epidemiology and focuses on analytic epidemiology and the use of quantitative research methods to answer a range of questions.  The course is relevant for etiologic, prognostic, predictive, efficacy, effectiveness and evaluative research questions in a variety of research-focused and applied public health settings.  A major component of the course is the development of a research protocol using the methods of analytic epidemiology.

General Requirements

This is a core required course for the MPH Epidemiology field. Introductory courses in epidemiologic research, surveillance and demography and biostatistics are expected (Intro to Epidemiology and Population perspectives). Students will be taking more advanced courses in biostatistics and public health surveillance in parallel.
