People with mental illness experience a range of factors that can be both behavioral and structural (ex. living in congregate settings) that put them more at risk for contracting and dying from COVID-19 than their peers. These individuals have historically had lower vaccine uptake for other vaccines, such as influenza. After primary series have been completed, Canadian youth have had much slower uptake of COVID-19 boosters than other adults. So where does that leave Canadian youth with mental illnesses, and what can be done to better reach this group with COVID-19 vaccine information?

Join Dr. Daniel Buchman and Claire Perry as they share their insights on the attitudes of youth with mental illness towards COVID-19 vaccines – and what targeted, evidence-based approaches could help vaccine uptake in this population.
