I have been an independent consultant since 2008, working with governments, NGOs, universities, and private organizations in a broad range of health and social areas, including gender, health care, chronic disease prevention, infectious diseases, and the social determinants of health. My consulting work includes monitoring and evaluation, research, writing/medical writing, strategic development, capacity development, policy analysis, knowledge translation/synthesis, and facilitation services in the health and social development sectors.

I have worked on projects in many countries including Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Congo, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey, Myanmar, Philippines, eSwatini and Thailand. I have also remotely worked on projects in Burundi, Senegal, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, and Jordan.

Prior to becoming a consultant, I held a number of senior management roles, including Director of the Canadian Population Health Initiative at the Canadian Institute for Health Information, and Director of the Health Charities of Canada (a coalition of 53 Canadian health charities). I also worked for two provincial departments of health (Alberta and Prince Edward Island).

I have consulted on a broad range of areas in the Canadian and international development realms. Areas have included: poverty, maternal/newborn/child health (MNCH), Indigenous health, immigrant/refugee health, healthy living, active transportation, nutrition, sodium, obesity, cancer, heart health, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, HPV, LBGTQ+ health, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), medicare funding, intervention research, partnership/funding/governance models, public health governance, primary care, public health core competencies, public health guidance, patient-centred care, palliative care, inequities, knowledge translation, indicators/data/surveillance, COVID-19, substance use, gender and health, vaccinations, aging in place, ethics, and child, early and forced marriage (CEFM).
