Research Interests

Dr. Moin’s research interests include epidemiology, health services and policy research, mental health and addictions, health equity, social determinants of health, multimorbidity, and healthcare system performance. His research focuses on understanding the distribution and determinants of health and healthcare outcomes, with particular interest in how social, demographic, and system-level factors influence access to care and population health. He employs quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches to support evidence-informed decision-making and the development of interventions and policies that improve health outcomes and strengthen health systems.

Dr. John Moin is a health services researcher with over 12 years of experience leading and supporting applied research across healthcare, government, academia, and international organizations. He has held research and training appointments at the University of Toronto, SickKids, St. Michael’s Hospital, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. His work combines epidemiology, health services research, and program evaluation to generate evidence that informs policy, practice, and health system improvement. He has extensive experience working with population-based, administrative, survey, and clinical datasets to examine patterns of health, healthcare utilization, and health outcomes across diverse populations.
