CHL5402H Position Description -Emergency Position

This is a second level course in epidemiology and focuses on analytic epidemiology and the use of quantitative research methods to answer a range of questions. The course is relevant for etiologic, prognostic, predictive, efficacy, effectiveness and evaluative research questions in a variety of research-focused and applied public health settings. A major component of the course is the development of a research protocol using the methods of analytic epidemiology.

Qualifications:

Intermediate to advanced training in epidemiologic research methods including experimental and non-experimental (observational) research designs and biostatistics including multivariable methods for analysis of observational studies in epidemiology.
Scientific writing including quantitative research manuscripts and proposals.
Completed masters training in epidemiology, current doctoral student in epidemiology or equivalent background and experience.

Duties:

a) Consultation and preparation with course directors; b) Conducting discussion-based tutorials with students and grading students; c) Consultation with individual students on independent projects on discussion and critical thinking; d) Grading essays and major assignments; e) Grading midterm and final examinations.

Relevant Criterion:

The need to acquire experience is the more relevant criterion than previous experience in respect of this posted position.
