CHL5114H Position Description -Emergency Posting
CHL5114H, formerly CHL5807H, is an interdisciplinary graduate course that examines a variety of approaches and actions that inform health communication initiatives, including behavioural, sociological, political- economy, and cultural studies lenses.
The course will be structured around the objectives, platforms, messages, audiences, source forming the communication strategy, and secondarily production aspects of communication approaches such as:
media framing
media advocacy
health and media literacy
social marketing of health
patient provider communication
communication for social change
risk & emergency communication
communicating social determinants
entertainment education or edutainment
social media engagement

Qualifications:
a. Up to one meeting weekly with professor in person,
b. Attending up to 3 lectures before tutorials,
c. conducting up to 3 online tutorials, and
d. Supporting students with their group work with local organizations.
Duties:
• Knowledge of social, cultural, and social communications theories, models, frameworks,
• knowledge of current Public Health and Health Communication issues and practices such as digitizing public health, patient empowerment and social media, AI and communications, health misinformation, EDIA in health communication, and knowledge mobilization.
• Interest in delving into these areas to support the work of students.
Relevant Criterion:
The need to acquire experience is the more relevant criterion than previous experience in respect of this posted position
